I finished sealing one of the two swords, now I'm applying black gesso as a primer coat. The black paint gives the first hint of what the swords will look like when completed. It also helps to bring out the imperfections I may have missed during the sanding phase.
I'll be putting on multiple coats and sanding in between to eliminate all signs of wood grain and other imperfections.
