I've finished, "You Know My Name", my latest Anime Music Video. I'll be submitting it to Anime Expo, Fanime, AnimeNext, AnimeEvolution and A-Kon. I will be making posts as I learn if it makes the finals at any of the conventions.

This magazine is all about Scroll Saw projects and woodworking. They heard about the props I've made with the help of the scroll saw, and did a little half page article about me.
If you see the magazine on the newsstands, check it out, I'm on the last page.
Check the downloads section on the right hand side of this page for the scroll saw patterns I use for my props.

I finished sealing one of the two swords, now I'm applying black gesso as a primer coat. The black paint gives the first hint of what the swords will look like when completed. It also helps to bring out the imperfections I may have missed during the sanding phase.
I'll be putting on multiple coats and sanding in between to eliminate all signs of wood grain and other imperfections.

There haven't been many updates here lately, the due date for Anime Expo 2009's AMV contest is May 1st and my latest video isn't ready yet. So no progress on the MAME cabinet, Hyperion Gunblade or Sword Props, but the moment the video is done, I'll pick those projects up.

I'm trying something new with these sword props. Normally, after I've completed the assembly and sanding, I'll move right on to primer. This time I decided to try a few coats of ModPodge to help seal the porous wood. I'll sand the sword tonight after work and start on the primer the day after that.
